Key elements of a Children's Rights Based Approach to legislative reform
This section outlines the principles that must be followed to observe a children’s rights based approach (CRBA) to legislative reform.
For the CRC to be fully implemented, a comprehensive set of reformatory steps must be taken in addition to legislative reform, with a view to establishing a coherent child rights architecture, including these steps:
- Training and capacity-building;
- Budgeting and resource allocation;
- Development of sustainable policies for children;
- Institutional reform;
- Oversight and monitoring.
These crucial reformatory steps are discussed fully in the section HOW.
